Other Realities (Exploring Proximate Mysticisms)
Arriving at realms beyond the ordinary through substances, meditations, prayers, yogic and tantric practices, fasting, casting spells, chanting, ecstatic dance and the ever expanding repertory of mechanisms to leave the ordinary behind has adapted rapidly. It used to involve a requisite journeying, across the globe or at least outside of ones daily routine. Whether heading to a guru in Tibet or a simple regional ashram one was not merely continuing with lived life. It seems today, as the age of anxiety nis ever ending but life’s demands grew ever greater the incorporation of mystical into our over scheduled lives. So here we present six makers who have transitioned from interested observers of magic to true practitioners who bring their necromancy skills into the gallery and into the normal flow of experience, between the gym and the supermarket a few moments of magic.
